Osai has always stood out because of its capacity to remain at the cutting edge. This is why, in addition to taking part in the now well-established Productronica and Semicon fairs, it trod the stage of the E-WASTE World Conference and Expo 2019 in November, with a dedicated display stand and a speech during the plenary session.
The E-Waste event is directed towards presenting and discussing the latest technologies in the field of recycling and solutions for recovering metal (especially making use of so-called ‘urban mining’), sustainable materials and alternatives with low environmental impact, involving and bringing together experts from all over the world.
Osai’s attendance at this event has allowed it to get in touch with new organisations and approach a potential new market, where an exchange of technologies underpins a search for solutions to contemporary environmental sustainability issues.
The speech contributed by our CTO – Marco Guolo – attracted a good deal of interest from the audience. They were in a position to see and appreciate OSAI’s results from taking part in the European H2020 ADIR project (grant 680449), ending at the close of this year, and the tech approach developed for future applications in recovering valuable and critical metal from abandoned electronic devices.
There was a particular focus on presenting the new OSAI projects intended for solutions in recycling, exploiting ‘urban mining’ and applying tech and industrial automation concepts to the WEEE recovery and recycling sector: Osai’s experience and know-how in the automation sector can enable the identification of industrial solutions for this new field as well, extending current business areas.
