The future of the semiconductor industry, advanced manufacturing and industrial innovation relies increasingly on international collaboration, technology transfer and the integration of cutting-edge technologies.
These were the key themes at OSAI & Partners Meet Vietnam High Tech, an event that brought together companies, institutions, technology providers and academic representatives from Italy and Vietnam to explore new opportunities for cooperation and industrial development.
Opening Remarks on Innovation and Industrial Collaboration
Held on 24 September 2026 at Casa Italia in Hanoi, the event served as a platform for knowledge sharing and networking among stakeholders operating across the semiconductor, electronics, automation and high-tech manufacturing sectors.
The day opened with institutional greetings from H.E. Marco della Seta, Ambassador of Italy to Vietnam, who highlighted the growing strategic relationship between Italy and Vietnam and the importance of fostering collaboration in innovation, technology and industrial development.
Automation and Semiconductor Technologies Driving the Future of Manufacturing
The morning session focused on advanced manufacturing technologies, automation and semiconductor industry trends. Luca Nicola, Technical Sales Manager and Key Account Manager at OSAI Automation System, presented the company’s extensive experience in designing and delivering automation solutions tailored to the evolving needs of modern manufacturing. With more than three decades of expertise in industrial automation, OSAI supports customers across a wide range of industries, including semiconductors, electronics, automotive, e-mobility, medical devices, home appliances, jewellery and fashion, as well as advanced laser processing applications. Leveraging a strong focus on innovation and customization, OSAI develops automated systems designed to improve productivity, quality, traceability and process reliability, helping manufacturers address increasingly complex production challenges while supporting the transition towards smarter and more sustainable industrial operations.
Alessandro Copeta, Head of R&D at G3, provided an overview of the company’s technological expertise and innovation activities, highlighting the role of research and development in supporting industrial competitiveness.
Sustainability and circular economy were at the center of the presentation delivered by OSAI GreenTech, the OSAI Group company specialized in automation solutions for urban mining and the recovery of valuable resources from end-of-life products. Marco Carniato, Chief Commercial Officer of OSAI Group, illustrated how advanced automation technologies are transforming the recycling industry by enabling the efficient disassembly, sorting and treatment of electronic waste and printed circuit boards, highlighted the strategic role of urban mining in recovering precious and critical materials, including gold, silver and palladium contained in electronic assemblies, reducing dependence on virgin raw materials and supporting the transition to a circular economy. Through innovative automation solutions, OSAI GreenTech is helping make resource recovery processes more efficient, traceable and environmentally sustainable, turning end-of-life electronics into a valuable source of secondary raw materials.
The semiconductor sector was represented by HK Loh, Regional Head of Sales at SEMISHARE, who presented the latest developments in semiconductor testing and probing technologies, showcasing solutions designed to improve productivity, quality and reliability throughout the semiconductor manufacturing process.
The final session of the morning featured Muthuramu Gurusamy, Vice President and Regional Head ASEAN at Tessolve Semiconductor, who explored the growing impact of artificial intelligence on research and development activities. His presentation highlighted how AI-assisted methodologies are helping companies accelerate product development cycles and enhance innovation capabilities across the semiconductor industry.
The afternoon session focused on international cooperation, innovation ecosystems and technology transfer. Marco Abbiati, Diplomatic Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of Italy in Vietnam, delivered a presentation entitled “From Innovation to Technology Transfer: Italian Excellence Driving Cooperation with Vietnam”, highlighting successful examples of collaboration between research institutions, industry and government organizations.
Representing Viettel Manufacturing Corporation, Lưu Hồng Dương (Frank Liu), Head of International Partnership, discussed the company’s vision for connecting Vietnam’s advanced manufacturing capabilities with global industrial networks and technology partners.
Vietnam’s High-Tech Ecosystem: Industry and Academic Perspectives
The audience also heard from Linda Zhou, Chief Representative of Ruwac Asia , who presented the company’s activities and its contribution to supporting industrial growth across the region. She highlighted Ruwac’s expertise in industrial vacuum and dust extraction technologies, which play a key role in maintaining clean, safe and efficient manufacturing environments in industries such as semiconductors, electronics, additive manufacturing and advanced industrial production. Her presentation emphasized the importance of contamination control, dust management and workplace safety in supporting the growth of Vietnam’s high-tech manufacturing ecosystem.
Academic perspectives were provided by Professor Huynh Trung Hai, Dean at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, who emphasized the importance of education, engineering talent and research capabilities in supporting Vietnam’s ambitions within the global semiconductor ecosystem.
The final presentations of the day reflected the dynamism and diversity of Vietnam’s industrial ecosystem. Nguyen Van Thang, Project Director at RTC Technology Vietnam, presented the company’s expertise in automation and smart factory solutions, highlighting its capabilities in machine vision, AGV and AMR technologies, smart warehousing and customized automation systems designed to improve productivity and accelerate industrial digitalization. RTC’s experience demonstrated how automation is becoming a key enabler of competitiveness for modern manufacturing operations.
Last but not least, Duong Thu Huong, Head of Business Development at SASI, who provided an overview of the company’s manufacturing capabilities and its role within Vietnam’s supporting industries. As a leading OEM manufacturer, SASI offers integrated services ranging from precision metal fabrication and robotic welding to advanced coating and assembly processes, serving sectors such as automotive, industrial equipment and mobility. Her contribution highlighted the growing strength of Vietnam’s manufacturing supply chain and its increasing attractiveness as a partner for international industrial collaboration.
Beyond the individual presentations, the event encouraged meaningful dialogue on key topics shaping the future of manufacturing, including semiconductor testing, industrial automation, artificial intelligence, resource recovery, technology transfer and international partnerships. Participants exchanged ideas, identified common challenges and explored opportunities for future collaboration between Italian and Vietnamese organizations.
The strong participation and quality of discussions confirmed the growing importance of Vietnam as a strategic hub for high-tech manufacturing and semiconductor development, while also highlighting the role that international cooperation can play in accelerating innovation and sustainable industrial growth.
